General Protocol
- All employees are entitled to a 50% discount for all items for sale.
- This discount cannot be combined with other discounts used for customers.
- For every scheduled shift, all employees are entitled to one free made-to-order beverage for their own consumption only.
- Any made-to-order beverages after the initial one, or ones made for others, must be paid for using the 50% discount.
- Employees are prohibited from taking items from the inventory during store hours without registering the transaction in Square.
- The purchasing employee’s account must be registered at the point of sale to execute any discount.
- If no account has been registered, the Bakery Manager must be informed of the transaction and proceed to create an account for that employee.
- This measure is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records for online ordering, as well as sales and waste tracking.
Leftover and Defective Items
- Taking uncounted leftover and defective items is prohibited.
- Leftover items are to be counted and submitted in the waste report before any form of distribution.
- Once an end-of-shift waste report is submitted, any employees, regardless of if they were scheduled, can take leftovers or defective products.
- Items that are destined to be upcycled can still be taken after the end-of-shift waste report has been submitted.
Taking Leftovers is a Privilege.
This policy is designed to provide clear guidelines on the benefits available to employees and their friends and family while ensuring responsible management of store resources. The company reserves the right to amend, revoke, or temporarily suspend these privileges at any time if they are being abused.
- Do not take an excessive number of leftovers (5+ items) without permission from the Bakery Manager or the employee submitting the waste report.
- The Bakery Manager or the employee submitting the waste report reserves the right to limit the distribution of leftover items at will.
Friends and Family Discounts
- Friends and family of employees are also eligible to receive the 50% discount on purchases.
- This discount is valid only when the employee is present at the time of purchase.
- Friends or family of employees are permitted to also take leftovers or defective products, but only if the employee they know is present.
Failure to comply with any of the points listed above will result in disciplinary action, which may include verbal warnings, written warnings, suspension of discount privileges, or termination, depending on the severity of the infraction.
